PFL New York weigh-in results: Usman Nurmagomedov’s title defense set

Professional Fighters League lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov‘s latest title defense is now official following the PFL New York weigh-ins.

The PFL New York main event will see Nurmagomedov (21-0, 1 NC) put his belt on the line against Archie Colgan. Both men had no trouble making championship weight, so the five-round fight will proceed. All other fighters made weight for the event, although we are still awaiting results for Khabib Nabiev and Jamelle Jones.

The 28-year-old Nurmagomedov is widely regarded as the PFL’s best fighter. The undefeated lightweight champion previously held Bellator’s belt since 2022 and won the inaugural PFL lightweight championship against Paul Hughes last year. This marks his second title defense as he recently submitted Alfie Davis to retain the title. The American Kickboxing Academy product weighed in at 154.8 pounds.

Looking to pull off a major upset is the undefeated Colgan (13-0). 2-0 inside the promotion, Colgan outpointed Mansour Barnaoui and Jay-Jay Wilson in his most recent fights. The 31-year-old has never tasted defeat and previously went 8-0 inside Bellator MMA. “King” stepped on the scale weighing 154.8 pounds for the biggest fight of his career.

PFL New York will air live on ESPN on Friday. Prelims begin at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT on the ESPN app before moving to ESPN at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
