An unfortunate training incident forced Raul Rosas Jr. to withdraw from a proposed clash with Rob Font at Noche UFC.

“El Nino Problema” recently went into detail explaining the exact nature of the injury that sidelined him.

“As much as i wanted this fight to prove myself against the best in the world, won’t be able to make it,” Rosas wrote on Instagram. “Injured my rib in training when I had someone on my back with a locked body triangle. I was trying to escape by spinning away and pulled it. I tried to push through it but didn’t heal [and] won’t fully heal in time.”

Font will remain on the Noche UFC card against replacement opponent David Martinez. Noche UFC — also known as UFC Fight Night 259 — takes place at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas, on Sept. 13 and is headlined by a featherweight tilt pitting Diego Lopes against Jean Silva.

Rosas Still Hopes to Fight Twice More in 2025

Rosas, who has won five of his six UFC appearances, still hopes to maintain an ambitious itinerary for the remainder of 2025. In his most recent outing, he outpointed Vince Morales at UFC on ESPN 64 on March 29.

“Barely starting to get back into normal training, so hopefully I’ll be back soon,” he wrote. “Can’t wait to be back and earn my spot again against a Top 15 [opponent]. Working my way up. Looking to heal soon and step back in the cage [two] more times this year.”
