Report: Ex-PFL Champ Timur Khizriev Shot By Two Attackers in Dagestan

Former Professional Fighters League featherweight champion Timur Khizriev is currently hospitalized after being shot in Makhachkala, Dagestan.

According to a report and video posted by VestnikMMA on social media, Khizriev was shot five times by two masked men after he exited his vehicle. Khizriev was taken to a hospital and required surgery following the attack.

Timur Khizriev’s Life Not in Danger Following Attack

Khizriev’s management told MMAjunkie.com that the fighter remains in the hospital but his “life is not in danger.” Further details for the reason behind the attack are currently unknown.

A 29-year-old native of Makhachkala, Dagestan, Khizriev owns an 18-0 record in MMA. He enjoyed his greatest success in 2024, when he went 4-0 under the PFL banner en route to becoming the organization’s featherweight champion. Khizriev also went 3-0 during a brief stint in Bellator MMA from 2022 to 2023. Khizriev has not fought thus far in 2025.
