The UFC Abu Dhabi card has reportedly lost its co-main event.

Movsar Evloev was scheduled to welcome former Bellator star Aaron Pico to the Octagon in the co-main event at UFC on ABC 9 on July 26 at the Etihad Arena in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. However, Red Corner MMA was first to report that Evloev has pulled out of the fight due to an injury suffered in a fight camp in Thailand.

Evloev vs. Pico Likely to Be Rescheduled

According to a separate report from MMAjunkie.com, the plan is to keep Evloev vs. Pico intact at a future event. The promotion has yet to make an official announcement regarding the fight or its potential new date.

Evloev has been on the cusp of a featherweight title shot for a while now. The undefeated Russian with nine UFC wins to his name was expected to be next in line if he beat Pico. His record includes victories over the likes of Aljamain Sterling, Arnold Allen, Diego Lopes and Dan Ige.

Meanwhile, Pico is still awaiting his Octagon debut after compiling a 13-4 mark almost exclusively under the Bellator MMA banner.
