The Robert Whittaker vs. Reinier de Ridder scorecard at UFC Abu Dhabi shows how the judges scored their close fight Saturday evening.
de Ridder remains perfect in his UFC career when he won a split decision over former UFC champion Whittaker in the main event (47-48, 48-47, 48-47). de Ridder is now 4-0 since joining the UFC.
It came down to the fourth round for the three judges of the fight. Mike Bell gave rounds 1, 3 and 4 to Whittaker for his 48-47 score, while judges Ben Cartlidge and David Lethaby gave de Ridder rounds 1, 3, and 4 for their 48-47 scores for de Ridder.
Whittaker has now lost two straight fights for the first time in the UFC since 2014.
