Rodolfo Vieira will look to bounce back from the first loss of his professional MMA career.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that a matchup between Vieira and Dustin Stoltzfus will take place at the UFC’s event on July 17 at a location and venue yet to be announced.
After a pair of submission wins to kick off his UFC career, Vieira entered his most recent bout as high as a -500 favorite as he took on Anthony Hernandez at UFC 258. After nearly getting a submission win early, Vieira was unable to close the show, which led to Hernandez mounting a memorable comeback and submitting the Brazilian in the second round. The loss snapped the multi-time ADCC champion’s seven-fight winning streak.
Stoltzfus makes his sophomore appearance inside the octagon after earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series in August. The 29-year-old took on Kyle Daukaus in his promotional debut and dropped a unanimous decision at UFC 255 in November, which put an end to the Pennsylvania native’s 10-fight win streak.
The middleweight bout joins the return of former bantamweight champion Miesha Tate as she faces Marion Reneau.
