Sabina Mazo vs. Alexis Davis set for UFC event on Feb. 27

Sabina Mazo will look to make it four straight wins inside the octagon and will do so up a weight class.

Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that a bantamweight matchup between Mazo and Alexis Davis will take place at the UFC’s event on Feb. 27. As of now, a location has not been revealed for the fight card.

Milenio was first to report the booking.

After losing a unanimous decision in her promotional debut, Mazo bounced back with decision wins of her own over Shana Dobson and JJ Aldrich. But it was the Colombian fighter’s most recent appearance that opened a lot of eyes; Mazo earned her first octagon finish, a third-round submission of Justine Kish at UFC Vegas 10 in September.

The Davis fight marks Mazo’s first appearance at 135 pounds.

Davis, a former UFC title challenger, looks to snap a three-fight skid in her first fight since July 2019. “Ally-Gator” picked up wins in both of her 2017 appearances, but since then, has suffered unanimous decision losses to Katlyn Chookagian, Jennifer Maia and Viviane Araujo.
