After Stipe Miocic stopped Daniel Cormier in the main event of UFC 241, many took to social media to declare the Cleveland native to be the greatest heavyweight of all-time. Yet, Bellator MMA President Scott Coker thinks otherwise, as he believes Ryan Bader is.
“@RyanBader is the best heavyweight fighter on the planet,” Coker wrote in his tweet.
Bader, of course, is the current Bellator light heavyweight and heavyweight champion after winning the promotion’s heavyweight grand prix earlier this year. There, during the tournament, he stopped Muhammed Lawal in just 15 seconds in the first round. He then followed that up with a dominating unanimous decision win over Matt Mitriobe and then finished Fedor Emelianenko in 35 seconds to win the heavyweight title.
In his first title defense, “Darth” will take on Cheick Kongo in the main event of Bellator 226 on Sept. 7.
