Loopy Godinez and Julia Polastri have stated their case for UFC Mexico’s Fight of the Night.
The strawweight preliminary battle delivered the goods, as Polastri was able to battle back after a tough first round—and a nasty power bomb-like slam from Godinez—to make things interesting, and give the Mexican fans a treat.
The third round, in particular, stole the show, with both women leaving everything they had in the octagon, much to the delight of fans, fighters, and commentators who showed their enthusiasm throughout the fight both in noise and on social media.
In the end, Godinez earned a unanimous decision nod, which snapped a two-fight losing streak in the process. For Polastri, she falls to 1-2 inside the octagon.
Following the fireworks-filled brawl, MMA fighters such as former UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling, and current Bellator champ Corey Anderson gave flowers to both Godinez and Polastri.
