Special U.S. Broadcast Plans Announced for PFL Champions Series ‘Cape Town’

Professional Fighters League’s debut in Africa will have a couple of different viewing options for fans in the United States.

While the PFL Africa card will air via the PFL app at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT, the PFL Champions Series portion of the event will air exclusively via ESPN+ at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT. The promotion announced the broadcast plans in a release on Monday.

Officially titled PFL Road Champions Series Road to Dubai: Cape Town, the five-bout card features some of the organization’s top stars. The event is headlined by a middleweight championship clash between Johnny Eblen and Costello van Steenis, while 2024 PFL flyweight champion Dakota Ditcheva meets Sumiko Inaba in the co-main event.

The PFL Champions Series event includes three other showcase bouts: A.J. McKee vs. Akhmed Magomedov at lightweight; Artur Zaynukov vs. Takeshi Izumi at lightweight and Corey Anderson vs. Denis Goltsov at heavyweight.

U.S. Fans Have Multiple Ways to Watch PFL’s African Debut

The PFL Africa card will precede PFL Champions Series and features first-round tournament bouts at heavyweight and bantamweight.

“The debut of PFL Africa marks a historic milestone in the global evolution of mixed martial arts,” said PFL executive Peter Murray in a release. “We’re proud to deliver this groundbreaking event to fans worldwide, and to showcase the PFL Champions Series live in the U.S. on ESPN+. As we continue our global expansion, fans in the U.S. can catch all the action from PFL Africa exclusively on the PFL App, the official home of international PFL competition.”
