‘Takedown at the end cost Erceg again’: Pros react to Brandon Moreno’s main event win at UFC Mexico

Brandon Moreno saw his hand raised in his home country, as he closed the show with a unanimous decision victory at UFC Mexico.

Moreno sent the Arena CDMX crowd home happy with a unanimous decision win over one-time flyweight title challenger Steve Erceg in the main event of Saturday’s Fight Night card in Mexico City.

The two-time flyweight champion entered his 10th consecutive five-round fight looking for his first victory in his home country of Mexico, after going 0-2-1 in his first three attempts. “The Assassin Baby” was able to break the curse, and his emotions poured out when he was announced the winner — winning four of five rounds on all three judges’ scorecards.

Following the second straight victory for Moreno, UFC and MMA professional fighters gave their thoughts on Moreno’s victory over Erceg, and how the fight played out as a whole.

Check out those reactions below.
