Another fight has been added to the UFC 227 lineup, as Thiago Santos will lock horns with Kevin Holland on Aug. 4.
The middleweight pairing was announced during Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series. UFC 227 takes place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be headlined by a bantamweight championship rematch between T.J. Dillashaw and Cody Garbrandt.
Santos had a four-bout winning streak snapped in his last outing when he suffered a first-round knockout loss against David Branch at UFC Fight Night 128. Prior to that, “Marreta” had finished four opponents in a row via knockout or technical knockout.
Holland, meanwhile, last appeared at the Contender Series on June 12, when he earned a unanimous decision win over Will Santiago Jr. The 25-year-old Texan has won nine of his last 10 fights and is 12-3 as a professional overall. All but one of his victories have come inside the distance.
