Tim Elliott vs. Askar Askarov set for UFC 246

Flyweight action is coming to the UFC’s first pay-per-view of 2020.

Tim Elliott (15-9-1) and Askar Askarov (10-0-1) announced via their respective social media accounts that they will fight at UFC 246 on Jan. 18 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

A one-time UFC title challenger at 125 pounds, Elliott returned to the division in his last outing at UFC Tampa, where he lost by first-round submission to Deiveson Figueiredo. He has alternated wins and losses in his last five Octagon appearances.

Askarov made his UFC debut in September, battling Brandon Moreno to a split draw at a show in Mexico City. Prior to that, he won his first 10 pro bouts all by knockout or submission.
