Titan FC double champ Jose Torres signs with UFC, will debut in Utica

One of the top lighter weight fighters in the world is headed to the UFC.

Jose Torres, the Titan FC flyweight and bantamweight champion, has agreed to fight Jarred Brooks at UFC Fight Night Utica on June 1, MMA Fighting has learned. Torres, who has agreed to a multi-fight contract with the promotion, is replacing Hector Sandoval, who is out of the fight due to undisclosed reasons. The fight will take place at flyweight.

Torres (6-0) most recently knocked out Alberto Orellano in the first round of their Titan FC 48 main event in February.

Brooks (13-1) is coming off a split-decision loss to Deiveson Figueiredo in October.

The event, headlined by Jimmie Rivera vs. Marlon Moraes, will mark the UFC’s first trip to Utica, N.Y.
