Dana White’s Contender Series alums Darion Abbey and Levi Rodrigues have been suspended for failed drug tests in relation to their bouts on the show.
The sanctions were announced during a Nevada State Athletic Commission meeting on Tuesday.
Abbey, who suffered a first-round TKO loss to Donte Johnson on Aug. 26, tested positive for the banned substance clomiphehe. As a result, the heavyweight received a nine-month suspension and was fined $750 along with $157.04 in legal fees. Abbey will be eligibile to return to active competition on May 25.

Rodrigues, meanwhile, had his temporary suspension extended after testing positive for 19-Norandrosterone, a metabolite of the anabolic steroid nandrolone. The Brazilian’s team is reportedly claiming that the positive test came from Rodrigues using the substance to recover from a back injiury between May 2024 and July 2024. “Baby Monster” earned a UFC contract for a first-round TKO of Freddy Vidal on the Contender Series on Oct. 14.
Rodrigues’ victory will likely be overturned to a no contest, though that is not official. It’s unclear if he will still receive a UFC contract in light of the failed drug test.
