UFC 223 Update: Light Heavyweights Devin Clark, Mike Rodriguez to Clash in Brooklyn

A light heavyweight duel pitting Devin Clark against Mike Rodriguez has been added to the UFC 223 lineup.

Promotion officials recently confirmed the pairing. UFC 223 takes place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on April 7 and is headlined by a lightweight championship bout between interim titlist Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Clark is 2-2 in four Octagon appearances thus far. Most recently, the 29-year-old South Dakota native suffered a second-round submission loss to Jan Blachowicz at UFC Fight Night 118 on Oct. 21. The Resurrection Fighting Alliance veteran owns an 8-2 career mark.

Rodriguez, meanwhile, made his mark with a flying knee knockout of Jamelle Jones at Dana White’s Contender Series 5 on Aug. 8. The longtime CES MMA competitor is 9-2 as a professional, with all of his triumphs coming via knockout, technical knockout or submission.
