UFC 302 custom fight shorts revealed for Dustin Poirier ahead of Islam Makhachev title fight

Dustin Poirier will have a fresh new look when he competes for the UFC lightweight title this weekend.

Poirier challenges Islam Makhachev for the gold in the main event of UFC 302 this Saturday at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. In the fight, “The Diamond” will wear new floral custom shorts, which were revealed on the Venum website.

Check out the customized shorts in the photos below.

Max Holloway received custom floral shorts for his UFC 300 fight with Justin Gaethje for the BMF title, and was victorious via knockout in the final seconds. Gaethje, Light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira, and strawweight champion Zhang Weili also wore customized fight kits at the event. And like them, Poirier was ecstatic about his custom fight shorts, posting pictures with them to his social media afterward.

“Got them custom boys!!”

Poirier will likely fight for an undisputed world title for the final time when he meets Makhachev. The 35-year-old, who currently sits as a +490 underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook, earned his opportunity with a second-round knockout of Benoit Saint Denis at March’s UFC 299 event.

Makhachev will look for his third successful title defense following a pair of wins over Alexander Volkanovski in 2023, which will tie the record for lightweight title defenses.
