The Ultimate Fighting Championship‘s return to Madison Square Garden comes with a stacked card featuring two title fights, which are now official after the UFC 322 weigh-ins.
The UFC 322 main event is now official, as both welterweight champion Jack Della Maddalena and former lightweight king Islam Makhachev successfully made weight. The other title clash, which features Valentina Shevchenko looking to defend her flyweight championship against former strawweight queen Weili Zhang, is also set as neither fighter had issues making championship weight. As for the rest of the card, all fighters made weigh with the exception of Beneil Dariush. The veteran lightweight came in 1.2 pounds heavy at 157.2 pounds for his fight against Benoit St. Denis and will be fined a percentage of his purse.

The first title defense for Maddalena (18-2) is an anticipated one as the Australian looked dominant in his dethroning of Belal Muhammad earlier this year. The title victory capped off an undefeated run in the UFC of 8-0, as Maddalena tore through contenders, such as Gilbert Burns, Kevin Holland and Randy Brown. The 29-year-old weighed 169.8 pounds for the biggest fight of his career.
Meanwhile, the undefeated Makhachev (27-1) is no stranger to fighting on the biggest stage possible. The 34-year-old looks to become a champ in a second weight division after going 5-0 in lightweight title fights. Defenses over Dustin Poirier and Alexander Volkanovski solidified his reign. The Dagestani fighter stepped on the scale at 170 pounds on the dot.
The UFC 322 main card will air live on ESPN+ pay-per-view starting at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT. Prelims begin at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT on ESPN+ and UFC Fight Pass before moving to ESPNews and ESPN+ at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
