“Do Bronx” received a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” check for his third-round submission of Kevin Lee in Saturday’s headliner at Nilson Nelson Gymnasium in Brasilia, Brasil. When Lee shot for a takedown in the third round, Oliveira trapped his man in a guillotine choke and forced a tapout 28 seconds into the period.
One fight earlier, Gilbert Burns garnered a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus for a quick finish of Demian Maia in the evening’s welterweight co-main event. Burns floored his foe with a left hook to the chin and pounced with follow-up ground-and-pound to secure the stoppage at the 2:34 mark of Round 1.
Finally, Maryna Moroz and Mayra Bueno Silva earned “Fight of the Night” honors and $50,000 apiece for their preliminary flyweight scrap. While Silva landed with more power in the bout, it was Moroz who set a three-round women’s flyweight record with 139 significant strikes landed. That allowed her to emerge with a unanimous decision triumph.
