The Ultimate Fighting Championship heads to Shenzhen, China, for the first time, where the strawweight title is on the line.
In the main event, Jessica Andrade (114.5) looks to defend her title for the first time as she takes on China’s Weili Zhang (115). The champion is coming off of a slam knockout win over Rose Namajunas at UFC 237 to capture the belt. The challenger, Zhang, is riding a massive 19-fight winning streak including three inside the Octagon. The co-headliner pairs the thrilling Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos (170.5) against Chinese stalwart Jingliang Li (171).
UFC Fight Night 157 airs live on ESPN and ESPN+ on Saturday, Aug. 31, with the main card kicking off at 6 a.m. ET/3 a.m. PT. The event also features a flyweight scrap between New Zealand native Kai Kara-France (126) and Factory X standout Mark De La Rosa (125.5). In the featherweight division, the unbeaten Movsar Evloev (146) rematches the debuting Zhenhong Lu (146). Opening up the main card is a women’s flyweight battle between former Invicta Fighting Championships title challenger Mizuki Inoue (125) and former bantamweight Yanan Wu (129)*.
One fighter missed weight: Wu (129)*, who came in three pounds above the flyweight limit, and she has been fined a percentage of her purse.
