Douglas took on Jamall Emmers in his sophomore Octagon outing. Emmers was a +400 underdog going into his clash against Douglas. He floored Douglas in the first round with a right hand flush to the left eye socket. Follow-up shots were hardly necessary for the referee to step in, as Douglas covered up and Emmers walked away with a massive upset win.

Cub Swanson says Lerryan Douglas lost vision in his left eye after Jamall Emmers’ UFC Sacramento knockout
Douglas’ left eye immediately swelled up from the impact. The Brazilian’s coach, former UFC fighter Cub Swanson, has since revealed that “Gunslinger” suffered a fractured orbital and immediately lost vision in his left eye. More details about the injury will only be known when Douglas visits a specialist.
“Lerryan Douglas had a fractured orbital and instantly lost vision in that eye,” Swanson wrote on X. “He is OK and I’m glad he didn’t take more damage. We’ll know more after he sees a specialist this week. Thanks for all the support”
