This is the UFC Mexico live blog for Raul Rosas Jr. vs. Vince Morales, a main card bantamweight bout Saturday at CDMX Arena in Mexico City.
Rosas turned heads when he was signed to the UFC at just 18 years old after an impressive win on Contender Series. The youngest fighter on the roster, Rosas proved he was more than just hype in his promotional debut, scoring a first-round submission win over Jay Perrin. A setback against Christian Rodriguez came in his next bout, but since then, “El Niño Problema” has rattled off three consecutive wins as he continues to establish himself as a serious threat at 135 pounds.
Previously a Bellator fighter, Morales failed to make it to the UFC via Contender Series back in 2018 but managed to make it into the promotion later that year anyway, losing to Song Yadong in his debut. Morales went 3-4 in the promotion from there and received his walking papers in 2022. But Morales picked himself back up, stringing together five wins outside the UFC to get another invite to the octagon last year. Unfortunately, it’s been more of the same for Morales who is on a two-fight losing streak since his return to the octagon and now faces another exit from the promotion if he loses Saturday.
