A UFC newcomer has failed a drug test before even debuting in the promotion.
Azamant Murzakanov has been flagged for a potential anti-doping violation by USADA stemming from an out-of-competition sample collected Sept. 2, the UFC announced Monday.
Murzanakov (7-0) is a Russian prospect who currently trains out of New Jersey. He has won all but one of his career victories by finish. Murzakanov, 28, was supposed to make his UFC debut against Joachim Christensen at UFC Oklahoma City in June, but withdrew due to injury.
In his last fight, Murzakanov defeated Georgy Sakaev by first-round knockout at ACB 57 in April.
