Make it a UFC record 17 post-fight bonuses for Donald Cerrone.
Cerrone and Al Iaquinta shared “Fight of the Night” honors and $50,000 apiece for their headlining battle at UFC Ottawa on Saturday night. Cerrone set a career high with 138 significant strikes landed while also dropping Iaquinta twice en route to a unanimous decision triumph.
Elsewhere, Walt Harris received a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus for his 50-second TKO of Sergey Spivak in a featured heavyweight scrap. A volley of heavy punches and knees against the fence sent Spivak to the canvas, where Harris unloaded with punches and hammerfists to secure the finish in short order.
Finally, Macy Chiasson earned the evening’s other $50,000 “Performance of the Night” check on the strength of a second round stoppage of Sarah Moras at bantamweight. “The Ultimate Fighter 28” winner denied a takedown attempt in the second stanza and finished her opponent with ground-and-pound at the 2:22 mark of the period.
