The cold open for the UFC’s first “Fight Island” date is live.
The promotion released the opening promo video for Saturday’s pay-per-view event in Abu Dhabi, casting the man-made island as an international proving ground in an unprecedented time. Perhaps not “Enter the Dragon,” but pretty close.
Actor Ron Perlman, a regular fixture these days in the hype videos, lays out the stakes for the three title fights in the octagon including the welterweight headliner between champ Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal.
You can even hear the voice of MMA Fighting’s own Mike Heck as he tees up the grand experiment in the desert. Take a look above at the video.
