The UFC Shanghai weigh-ins have left this weekend’s Ultimate Fighting Championship card intact despite an early scare.
The five-round main event between light heavyweights Johnny Walker and Migyang Zhang is set, as both men successfully weighed in. Meanwhile, the co-main event between would-be featherweights Brian Ortega and Aljamain Sterling has now been bumped up to a lightweight fight. This comes after reports that Ortega (16-4) had complications during his weight cut.
A fan-favorite light heavyweight due to his exciting style inside the Octagon, Walker (21-9, 1 NC) will headline his fourth UFC card. However, the Brazilian has been on a slide as he was knocked out in back-to-back fights against Magomed Ankalaev and Volkan Oezdemir. The 33-year-old will look to get back into the win column in style and came in at 206 pounds on the dot.
Meanwhile, this is the headlining fight for Zhang (19-6). “Mountain Tiger” is undefeated inside the UFC, having picked up wins against Anthony Smith, Osman Diaz, and Brendson Ribeiro. Ever the professional, the 27-year-old Chinese fighter weighed 205 pounds on the dot.
UFC Shanghai will air in its entirety on ESPN+. Prelims begin at 3 a.m. ET/midnight PT, while the main card starts at 6 a.m. ET/3 a.m. PT.
