The UFC on ESPN 72 card will be headlined by a five-round middleweight fight between Roman Dolidze and Anthony Hernandez. While Dolidze was the first man on the scale and had no issue making weight, the same could not be said for his opponent. “Fluffy,” unfortunately, lived up to his nickname as he came in half a pound overweight for the main event. Additionally, prelim fighters Joselyne Edwards and Julija Stoliarenko were also a quarter of a pound over the limit of their respective fights. However, all three fighters were able to cut down and hit their division’s cap with the extra hour given to make weight.

This is the third UFC main attraction for Dolidze (15-3), who is riding a three-fight win streak. “The Caucasian” most recently won a decision over Marvin Vettori and also has key victories over Kevin Holland and Anthony Smith. The Georgian fighter is 37, so it’s now or never to make a run. Dolidze stepped on the scale at 185.5 pounds.

Meanwhile, this is the second UFC headlining bout for Hernandez (14-2, 1 NC). “Fluffy” is coming off an impressive decision win over Brendan Allen, which was his seventh straight victory. Other key scalps collected by the 31-year-old include Roman Kopylov, Michel Pereira and Edmen Shahbazyan. Hernandez failed to make weight on his first attempt and came in at 186.5 pounds. He later came back to make weight by weighing 186 pounds on the dot.

UFC Vegas 109 will air live on ESPN and ESPN+ on Saturday. Prelims begin at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT, while the main card kicks off at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
