UFC Vegas 112 Update: Octagon Newcomer Steps in on Short Notice

UFC Vegas 112 has undergone a last-minute change to the fight card.

Isaac Thomson will replace Melsik Baghdasaryan and square off against Joanderson Brito in a featherweight contest. The Las Vegas-based promotion announced the news on Wednesday. UFC Vegas 112 — also known as UFC on ESPN 73 — takes place on Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas and is headlined by a flyweight clash between Brandon Royval and Manel Kape.

Regional Experience

A native of Sydney, Australia, the 23-year-old Thomson has been victorious in nine of his 11 professional outings. He has primarily competed under the Legacy Fighting Alliance banner, compiling a 6-2 mark with that organization. Most recently, he took a split verdict over Akbarjon Islomboev at LFA 219 on Oct. 10.

Brito, meanwhile, is 5-3 in UFC competition but has dropped back-to-back fights against William Gomis and Pat Sabatini.
