Per a police report initially obtained by MMAFighting.com, the Pembroke Pines Police Department responded to a dispute between Rozenstruik and an unidentified woman that they determined to be a “domestic violence incident.”
Rozenstruik and the woman were driving to a storage unit when the fighter allegedly slapped the woman’s phone out of her hand for ignoring him. The report states that Rozenstruik then slapped the woman’s hand again before grabbing her arm to prevent her from leaving the vehicle. The woman also claimed that she “punched Jairzinho with a closed fist in the head multiple times in self-defense.”
The woman then remained in the vehicle as Rozenstruik attempted to kiss her. The heavyweight athlete allegedly bit her arm when she refused and called him a “nasty beast.” The argument continued, but eventually the woman exited the vehicle after punching Rozenstruik again, which caused him to release her arm.
Visible Damage and a Lack of Cooperation
According to police, the woman had “a visible bite mark on her right bicep, redness on both of her forearms and a red scratch/bruise mark under her right eye.” Meanwhile, the reported stated that Rozenstruik was “uncooperative during the investigation and had changed his account of the incident multiple times and withheld information regarding the incident.”
Rozenstruik was taken into custody without incident when it was determined that he was the “primary aggressor” during the incident.
The 37-year-old Rozenstruik went 9-6 over the course of a UFC tenure that began in 2019, earning notable wins against the likes of Alistair Overeem, Andrei Arlovski, Junior dos Santos and Tai Tuivasa. “Bigi Boy” was released from the promotion last year. Rozenstruik has since gone 2-0 in Dirty Boxing, capturing the organization’s heavyweight title this past August.
