Nurmagomedov challenged Dvalishvili for the bantamweight title at UFC 311 this past January. The Dagestani suffered his first professional loss via unanimous decision. While Nurmagomedov edged past Dvalishvili in the early rounds, the champ resorted to his signature cage control in the later rounds.

Nurmagomedov is now scheduled to face a surging Mario Bautista at UFC 321 this weekend at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. Meanwhile, Dvalishvili defended his title against Cory Sandhagen at UFC 320 earlier this month in his usual style. The Georgian is scheduled to defend his title for the fourth time this year in a rematch against Petr Yanat UFC 323 on Dec. 6 in Las Vegas. Dvalishvili plans to defend his title again against Nurmagomedov if they both win their next fights. Dvalishvili has previously accused Nurmagomedov of receiving privileges because of his cousin, Khabib Nurmagomedov. Dvalishvili vows to land serious damage on Umar the next time they meet in the Octagon.
‘I’m Gonna Show Him Who’s Gonna Be Hurt’
Nurmagomedov likes Dvalishvili’s intent about a potential rematch. However, Nurmagomedov wonders aloud why “The Machine” didn’t land any damage when he had a chance. Nurmagomedov vows to turn the table on Dvalishvili if the champ really wants to hurt him.
“When I saw this, I felt nice,” Nurmagomedov told TMZ Sports. “You have to be in this mood because I hope you’re gonna take the fight again. He had a chance to hurt me — why not happen? We’ll see, but I like his mood, and if he’ll try to do it, I’m gonna show him who’s gonna be hurt.”
