Unbeaten Russian fighter Ivan Shtyrkov will square off against Yasubey Enomoto in a middleweight affair at Russian Cagefighting Championship 7 on Dec. 14.
It is currently unclear if Shtyrkov vs. Enomoto will serve as the evening’s headliner. RCC 7 takes place in Ekaterinburg, Russia and is also expected to include another middleweight clash pitting Alexander Shlemenko against Louis Taylor.
Shtyrkov signed a contract with Japanese promotion Rizin earlier this year. He debuted at Rizin 17, defeating Hoon Kim via technical knockout in the second round. The “Ural Hulk” was expected to face Jake Heun under the Rizin banner in October, but that fight was postponed. Shtyrkov was briefly under UFC contract but was released after receiving a two-year USADA suspension for an anti-doping violation.
Shtyrkov’s contract with Rizin allows him to fight with RCC until he becomes champion of the Japanese organization. RCC 7 will mark Shtyrkov’s sixth appearance with the promotion.
Yasubey Enomoto has already fought under the RCC banner, as he defeated Shtyrkov training partner Mikhail Ragozin by split decision on Sept. 14. Enomoto has been competing regularly in various organizations throughout Russia since 2011.
