Video: Kevin Lee suffers brutal knockdown during sparring after flying knee attempt; Lee responds

Ex-UFC fighter Kevin Lee is shown in a viral clip getting viciously dropped in sparring.

In the video that has circulated around social media, Lee attempts a flying knee on his sparring partner at Kill Cliff FC that came up short. The sparring partner, perhaps instinctively, countered with a brutal overhand right that sends Lee face first to the mat. “The Motown Phenom” is then tended to by former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler, telling Lawler, “I’m good” before walking it off.

Check out the video of the knockdown below.

The 32-year-old Lee is attempting to get back to the form that had many in the MMA community believing he could be one of the sport’s biggest stars. After a 19-fight run over two stints in the UFC, Lee is now a member of the Global Fight League roster. Lee was drafted by the New York team and is expected to make his promotional debut soon.

After a 55-second submission loss to Rinat Fakhretdinov at UFC Vegas 76 in July 2023, the UFC elected not to re-sign the one-time interim lightweight title challenger. Following a 14-month layoff, Lee returned to MMA and picked up a first-round submission win over 40-fight veteran Thiago Oliveira at Lights Out Championship 17 in September.

Lee responded to the video being posted below.
