In a video posted on social media, Raja Jackson enters the ring during a match, picks up wrestler Stuart Smith — also known as “Syko Stu” — and slams him down on the mat. From there, Jackson appears to land a series of real punches on the defenseless Smith. Jackson lands approximately 15 unanswered strikes before he is pulled off of the unconscious wrestler.

According to multiple reports, Jackson’s participation in the match was planned, but he was only supposed to pretend to assault Smith. However, another video depicts a backstage interaction prior to the match where Jackson had to be separated from Smith — an incident that could have prompted Jackson to assault the wrestler with real punches.
In another video, Jackson is on the phone after the incident, and someone tells him that they can’t revive Smith. According to one report, Smith was taken to the hospital with “serious injuries.” Meanwhile, “Rampage” released his own statement on the situation via X, revealing that Smith is “awake and stable” following the attack.

“I want to clear up the misinformation about my son Raja. I’ve been confirmed that the wrestler ( Stewart Smith aka Syko Stu) is awake and stable,” he wrote. “Raja was unexpectedly hit in the side of the head by him moments before Smith’s match, Raja was told that he could get his ‘payback”in the ring. I thought it was a part of the show. It was bad judgement, and a work that went wrong.
“Raja is a MMA fighter not a pro wrestler and had no business involved in an event like this. I don’t condone my son’s actions AT ALL! He suffered a concussion from sparring only days ago and had no business doing anything remotely close to physical contact. As a father, I’m deeply concerned with his health AND the well being of Mr. Smith. That being said I’m very upset that any of this happened, but my main concern now is that Mr. Smith will make a speedy recovery. I apologize on his behalf and to KICK for the situation.”

The 25-year-old Raja Jackson owns a 1-1 mark in professional MMA. His last fight occurred on Aug. 12, 2023.
