Zack Snyder to direct new UFC movie ‘Brawler’

The UFC will be hitting the big screen in a new film.

Per a press release, Zack Snyder will co-write and direct Brawler, which shares the story of a Los Angeles man’s journey as he rises up the ranks in the UFC, “battling his inner demons as he fights for redemption.” Turki Alashikh, a partner in TKO’s new boxing promotion, will co-produce the film.

As of now, starring roles, or expected release date have not been announced.

“His Excellency Turki Alalshikh and Zack Snyder have a shared vision to create a film about UFC,” Dana White said in the release. “They are both very passionate about this project to show fans what it takes to become a UFC champion. It’s an incredibly ambitious project and I look forward to seeing it come to life.”

Snyder has directed films such as 2004’s Dawn of the Dead, 2006’s 300, 2013’s Man of Steel, and 2016’s Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
