Angela Hill’s immediate reaction once the scorecards were announced for the UFC on ESPN 8 co-main event summed it all up.
“F—k,” the “Ultimate Fighter 20” veteran could be seen saying as referee Keith Peterson raised Gadelha’s arms in victory at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida, on Saturday night. Not only did the defeat snap a three-bout winning streak for Hill, but a large majority of observers believed “Overkill” deserved the nod.
According to MMADecisions.com, 13 of the 17 media scorecards tracked by the site awarded the fight to Hill. However, judges Chris Lee and Dave Tirelli scored the bout 29-28 for Gadelha, while Sal D’Amato had it 29-28 in favor of Hill.
The Alliance MMA product shared her viewpoint in a recent statement on social media while pushing for a quick Octagon return.
“I won that fight, [Dana White].” Hill wrote on Twitter. “Book me on the island, Arizona, [UFC Apex], wherever, and I’ll carve up more of your girls. Ready to go next week.”

White, however, didn’t necessarily hold Hill’s view of the fight. The UFC boss revealed at Saturday’s post-fight press conference that he thought Gadelha won the bout.
“I gave Gadelha [Rounds] ]1 and 3,” White said.
The UFC is tentatively scheduled to hold its next event on May 30. If the promotion is unable to hold the card in Las Vegas at the UFC Apex, White revealed that Arizona would be the most likely alternative destination.
Hill has established herself as one of the most active fighters in the sport in recent months. Since March 2019, the former Invicta FC strawweight champion has fought seven times in the Octagon, compiling a 4-3 mark during that period.
