As a result, Brendan Allen will step in and face the former ONE Championship two-division champion in the card’s new headliner. Hernandez has since released a statement regarding the fight via Instagram. He did not offer specifics regarding the nature of the injury that forced him to pull out of the fight.

As you’ve all probably seen unfortunately, I’ve had to pull out of my upcoming fight due to injury I want to sincerely apologize to the UFC, to my opponent Reinier de Ridder, and to everyone who was looking forward to this matchup,” Hernandez wrote.
“I also want to thank Brendan Allen for stepping up, it means a lot. To my fans, thank you for always tuning in, supporting me, and riding with me through everything. Right now my focus is on getting healthy so I can come back stronger than ever. When I return, I’ll be ready to make a statement.”
After losing two of his first three Octagon appearances, Hernandez has emerged as a top 185-pound contender on the strength of an eight-fight winning streak. The 31-year-old Californian has kicked off his 2025 campaign with victories over Allen and Roman Dolidze. His clash against de Ridder at UFC Vancouver was expected to serve as a potential title eliminator.
