The former welterweight champion suffered his second consecutive defeat in the UFC Qatar co-main event, falling to Ian Garry via unanimous decision at ABHA Arena in Doha, Qatar, on Saturday. “Remember the Name” compiled an 11-fight unbeaten streak from 2019 to 2024 but has endured a difficult 2025, losing his belt to Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 315 in May before coming up short against Garry.
‘We Couldn’t Get It Done’
Muhammad acknowledged that he has “work to do” in a brief statement released via social media on Sunday.
“We couldn’t get it done,” Muhammad wrote on Instagram. “Thank you Doha for the memories. Thank you to my team and family and friends that are with me no matter what and thank you to anyone that’s with me. Alhamdillah for everything I’m blessed to be here. We have work to do.”
The 37-year-old Muhammad has earned noteworthy triumphs over the likes of Leon Edwards, Gilbert Burns, Sean Brady, Vicente Luque, Stephen Thompson and Demian Maia during his UFC tenure.
