Things did not go as planned for Brandon Royval on Saturday night.
The former flyweight title challenger was finished in short order in the UFC Vegas 112 headliner, as he suffered a knockout loss to Manel Kape 3:18 into the opening round of their bout at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. It’s the second consecutive loss for “Raw Dawg” after falling to Joshua Van at UFC 317 this past June.
Providing an Update
Royval released a brief statement via Instagram to provide an update on his condition following the brutal stoppage defeat.
“Thank you for all who checked up on me, sad about the loss but my health is okay and live to fight another day,” Royval wrote.
The 33-year-old Factory X product is 7-5 during his tenure with the Las Vegas-based promotion, with notable triumphs over the likes of Tatsuro Taira, Brandon Moreno and Kai Kara-France, among others.
