Brendan Allen wants to bury the hatchet with Marvin Vettori, even though the feeling might not be mutual.

Allen and Vettori clashed in a middleweight grudge match at UFC 318 on Saturday at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Allen earned a unanimous decision win in a “Fight of the Night” affair in front of his home crowd.

There was a lot of bad blood between Allen and Vettori going into their UFC 318 clash. They had engaged in a physical altercation after a PFL event earlier this year after Allen allegedly saw Vettori swinging at his friend George Tokkos. While Allen cordially walked over to Vettori’s corner after their UFC 318 fight, “The Italian Dream” and his coaches did not seem eager to engage.

Allen later detailed the interaction with Vettori’s corner. “All In” went over to send his condolences for the loss of Vettori’s brother, Patrick, who passed away in an apartment fire this past April. While Allen doesn’t fully resonate with Vettori’s loss, his own brother also had an accident that left him paraplegic. UFC 318 was the first time Allen’s brother attended his fight since the accident. However, Allen wasn’t pleased with Vettori’s coach intervening between them.

Allen: I Don’t Have Any Bad Blood with Vettori

“I just told him, our problems aside, my heart goes out to him and his family,” Allen said in a post-fight media scrum. “My brother has his accident and he totally lost his brother… His coaches started talking s—t and I told them to get the f—k out of my face. It’s just people sticking their nose between two grown men. I don’t have any bad blood with him. He can say what he wants, he can feel how he wants before and after. That’s on him; he’s a grown man. I’m a grown man with kids, it’s just business to me.”
