Allen is coming off an upset win over Reinier de Ridder at UFC Vancouver last weekend. “All In” took over from the second round and made “The Dutch Knight” quit on the stool at the end of the fourth.

Allen and de Ridder were former teammates but not really training partners at Kill Cliff FC in Florida. When Allen got a call to replace Anthony Hernandez against de Ridder on short notice, he flew down to Chicago to train with Muhammad. A longtime friend of Muhammad, Allen recently shared high praise for “Remember the Name.” Apart from Muhammad’s fighting skillset, Allen is impressed with the former welterweight champion as a person. Allen also praised Muhammad’s work ethic, which is expected from partners who train with him as well. Allen further expressed his gratitude to Muhammad for making all his resources accessible for his training partners.
Allen: ‘Belal’s a Great Person’
“Belal’s a great person. Fighting aside, he is a great human being,” Allen told Home of Fight. “He’s like that guy that you want your daughter to date. He’s very detailed when it comes to fighting. He’s very adamant about his preparation, how he takes care of himself… He’s helped me in so many ways. I am still growing, I’m still evolving, I’m still learning new things from him. You can watch tape from my fight and obviously the biggest hole you can see in takedown defense and we’re continuing to get that better… He basically gave me his team. He gives me every avenue and every opportunity that he has, he gives the same to me. He treats me as he would treat himself.”
Muhammad lost his title to Jack Della Maddalena in an upset at UFC 315 this past May. Muhammad is now scheduled to fight Ian Garry at UFC Qatar on Nov. 22 at the ABHA Arena in Doha.
