At least that’s what Carlos “Borracha” Costa, his brother and coach, believes.

“That bad sequence just motivated my brother to give his very best in this camp,” Borracha told Sherdog.com. “Kopylov is definitely a tough opponent, but I don’t see that fight going until the end of the third round.”
The Brazilian coach also revealed that his brother dedicated so much to this camp that he was hindered by a flu virus that forced him to postpone the fight. “Borrachinha” was originally supposed to face Kopylov at UFC 317 on June 28 before the bout was rescheduled.
“The UFC understood and gave him that time to recover to reach the fight in his very best physical and technical conditions,” Borracha said. “This week we are doing the final adjustments, and we will travel to New Orleans on Sunday.”
Coach: ‘Borrachina’ Only Uses Half of His Tools
According to the Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, Costa must use his ground skills against his Russian adversary.
“I always tell him that he just uses 50% of his tools in the UFC,” Borracha said. “The only time he used his ground skills was against Luke Rockhold, when he even reached the mounted position. Maybe he will use that against Kopylov. We will see. The only certainty I have is that the fans will see the very best Paulo Costa.”
