Bryan Barberena vs. Anthony Ivy booked for UFC card on Sept. 12

Following more than a year away from action, Bryan Barberena will make his long-awaited return as he faces Anthony Ivy at the upcoming UFC event scheduled for Sept. 12 in Las Vegas.

Both Barberena and Ivy confirmed the matchup via social media following an initial report from MMA DNA.

Barberena will be making his first appearance in the UFC since undergoing back surgery to repair nerve and spinal damage. Prior to going under the knife, Barberena had dropped two straight fights with losses to both Randy Brown and Vicente Luque.

As for Ivy, he will compete in his second UFC fight after falling to Christian Aguilera in his debut back in June. He had won five straight prior to that setback.

The upcoming card on Sept. 12 is expected to be headlined by a light heavyweight clash between former title contenders Glover Teixeira and Thiago Santos.
