Cal Ellenor out of Bellator Dublin main event against James Gallagher

If James Gallagher is going to make his next home date, he’ll need a new opponent.

MMA Fighting’s Guilherme Cruz confirmed with officials that Cal Ellenor has been forced out of his Bellator Dublin headlining bantamweight bout opposite Gallagher due to an injury. The withdrawal was first reported by ESPN.

A new opponent is being sought out to keep Gallagher on the card.

Gallagher (9-1) rebounded from his first pro loss with back-to-back wins over Jeremiah Labiano and Steven Graham. His bout with Ellenor was to headline part of a Sept. 27 joint event in Dublin, Ireland, along with Bellator 227, which features lightweights Benson Henderson and Myles Jury in the main event.

Ellenor (8-2) was seeking his second win in the Bellator cage after making a successful debut in Newcastle, England this past February, where he defeated Nathan Greyson by first-round submission.
