Zuffa Boxing’s first event is now set, as both Saul Alvarez and Terence Crawford made weight for their super middleweight fight.
Undisputed championship status will be on the line as “Canelo” puts his WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO titles up for grabs against Crawford, who was previously undisputed at welterweight and light welterweight. Both men weighed in under the weight limit of 168 pounds without a problem. It’s the biggest boxing match in Crawford’s career, as well as being contested at the highest weight he’s fought at.

Alvarez (63-2-2) is boxing’s biggest star and has rebounded well since losing a decision to Dmitry Bivol in 2022. Since that defeat, “Canelo” has won six fights, including a trilogy match against Gennady Golovkin. However, Alvarez hasn’t finished a fight since his 2021 TKO over Caleb Plant. The undisputed super middleweight champion weighed 167.5 pounds.
Meanwhile, Crawford is largely considered one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in the sport. Undefeated as a pro with a 41-0 record, Crawford notched his biggest career win in 2023 with a vicious thrashing of Errol Spence Jr. He last fought against Israil Madrimov, where he won the WBA and WBO light middleweight titles. “Bud” stepped on the scale weighing the same as his foe at 167.5 pounds for the superfight.
“Canelo” vs. Crawford will air live on Netflix on Saturday. The prelims begin at 5:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. PT, whil the main card starts at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
