The announcement of Rafael Fiziev‘s injury has left Charles Oliveira fans, who sold out tickets for UFC Rio in three days, very concerned.
After all, the event is less than three weeks away and there aren’t many options available in the lightweight rankings. In a video posted on social media, “do Bronxs” made it clear that it hasn’t been easy to find opponents willing to face him, and he lashed out at alleged candidates to replace the Kazakh. Without naming opponents, the Brazilian indicated that some athletes are offering themselves on social media but are turning down official UFC offers.

“Everyone already knows that my UFC Rio fight was canceled, but look: don’t fall for the bulls—t of these guys who are offering to fight, because when the UFC calls them, they say there’s no time to make weight, that they can’t,” Oliveira said (via Ag.Fight). “This business of posting on the internet to gain hype, forget it. Forget it, because it’s getting ugly. Everyone talks, but when the UFC calls, you make excuses, saying you can’t, that you have a stomach ache, that you broke your finger, that you hurt your hand. Stop with this nonsense, it’s ugly.”
Oliveira Asked for Spot on UFC Rio Card
Oliveira specifically requested a spot on the UFC Rio card, and he is irritated by those who act like they want to face him publicly but take a different stance behind the scenes.
“I want to fight at UFC Rio,” he said. “I asked for this fight. My opponent got injured, and about 10 others showed up saying they would fight, but so far nothing. You want to gain fame? Don’t get the idea that you want to fight me, if you know it’s a lie.”
