Conor McGregor made a whopping $76,250 per second for his performance this past Saturday night at UFC 246.
It took the former two-division champion just 40 seconds to finish Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in the main event, where he took home a disclosed $3 million payday for his efforts. McGregor also earned an extra $50,000 for ‘Performance of the Night’, bringing his full purse to $3,050,000.
The disclosed salaries are courtesy of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, but do not include any pay-per-view or discretionary bonuses paid by the UFC.
When it’s all said and done, McGregor is expected to make a far greater sum than the disclosed money revealed by the Nevada Commission, although those final figures will not be made public.
For his part, Cerrone took home a $200,000 payday in a losing effort. He was still ultimately the second highest paid fighter on the card even without an additional $200,000 that would have been paid out with a victory.
Former women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm also took home $200,000 after her victory against Raquel Pennington in the co-main event. Holm made $150,000 up front with an additional $50,000 being paid as a win bonus.
The UFC also paid out five performance bonuses for the first time with four athletes outside of McGregor earning the extra $50,000 when the night was over.
