Welterweight Tristan Connelly took out high-flying prospect Michel Pereira in his octagon debut. He hopes to take out another prospect in his follow-up.
Connelly is set to take on Alex da Silva at a UFC event scheduled for April 11 at a location to be determined, according to multiple people with knowledge of the booking who confirmed the news to MMA Fighting following an initial report from Combate.
Connelly is on a five-fight winning streak that includes his short-notice upset of Pereira, whose acrobatic techniques did not translate to a second UFC win.
Da Silva, meanwhile, takes on his third UFC bout after going 1-1 in respective appearances against Alexander Yakovlev and Rodrigo Vargas.
