There was no drama on the scales Monday morning, as all 12 athletes
slated to compete on Week 3 of the 2021 edition of Dana White’s
Contender Series made weight without issue.
The Contender Series takes place on Tuesday at the UFC Apex in Las
Vegas and airs on ESPN+ beginning at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. The
featured bout on the card is a light heavyweight scrap between
Jailton
Almeida (203 pounds) and Nasrudin
Nasrudinov (206).
Brazil’s Almeida enters the matchup with Nasrudinov on an
eight-bout winning streak, with all of those victories coming
inside the distance. The 30-year-old owns a 13-2 overall mark and
has finished five wins via KO/TKO and eight by way of tapout.
Nasrudinov, meanwhile, is undefeated through nine professional
outings. The 29-year-old Moscow native is coming off a four-fight
stint in Absolute Championship Akhmat in which he went 4-0 and
finished three of his four opponents.
