Contender Series Weigh-in Results: Short-Notice Fighter Misses Mark by 4 Pounds

Freddy Vidal accepted his Dana White’s Contender Series opportunity on short notice, which may have contributed to his difficulties on the scales on Monday morning.

Vidal weighed in at 210 pounds — four pounds above the limit — for a proposed lightweight clash against Felipe Franco (204). Franco had been booked against two other opponents for Week 5 of the Contender Series before Vidal stepped in on less than one week’s notice. All of the other athletes slated to compete hit their contracted marks without issue.

Asplund has won five of six professional outings while competing primarily for the Legacy Fighting Alliance promotion. The 27-year-old Minnesotan is 2-0 in 2025, with TKO victories against Raiden Kovacs and Hammer Morton.

A native of Largo, Florida, Guarascio has finished all four of his career triumphs inside of a round. “The Daywalker” last appeared at Cage Fury Fighting Championships 141, where he knocked out Bailey Schoenfelder in 92 seconds on April 19.
