Danny Silva will be ‘chasing’ Kevin Vallejos after UFC London win

Danny Silva wants to avenge his loss against Kevin Vallejos

Silva (11-2)) knocked out Kurtis Campbell in the second round of their featherweight matchup at UFC London. The win saw Silva rebound from a closely-contested unanimous decision loss against Vallejos (18-1), who has since become a highly-touted prospect.

Silva believes Vallejos’s stardom was partly built on his lone career loss against Jean Silva, who is now on the cusp of bursting into the UFC featherweight title picture. While Silva doesn’t want to build himself based on his loss against Vallejos, he will continue chasing the Argentinian. Silva believes his loss to Vallejos was controversial, with many of his supporters thinking he had done enough to secure the victory.

Willing to Fight Anybody

“I do want to bounce back,” Silva said in a post-fight interview with the UFC. “I lost to Vallejos; he kind of built his name off of Jean Silva. I don’t want to build my name off of [Vallejos]. But I’ve been his toughest match. He fought Jean on the Contender Series, so when I fought Vallejos, I fought a better version of him. We just saw what he did to a lot of good fighters. He wasn’t able to do that to me. I thought that was a very controversial fight. I know a lot of people – at least my fight fans thought that I had done enough. I’m gonna be chasing him, I’m gonna be chasing him until we fight again, hopefully in the Top 10 or Top 5. But I’m willing to fight anybody.”

Silva is 3-1 in the UFC since making his debut in 2023. Meanwhile, Vallejos came up short in his first Dana White’s Contender Series opportunity against Silva in 2023. Vallejos rebounded with a couple of wins on the regional circuit and a knockout win in his second Contender Series opportunity in 2024 to earn his UFC contract. Vallejos has since racked up four consecutive wins, only going the distance against Silva. Vallejos recently knocked out Josh Emmett in the first round of his first UFC main event earlier this month.
